The first version of the DIY moth trap didn’t really work, so I upgraded with a plastic dog collar from the vets to raise the height of the baffle to the top of the bulb. And it worked a treat with 6 moths, of 6 species!

Tonight’s catch:

  • 1x Early Grey (Xylocampa areola)
  • 1x Common Plume (Emmelina monodactyla)
  • 1x Brindled Beauty (Lycia hirtaria)
  • 1x Hebrew Character (Orthosia gothica)
  • 1x Common Quaker (Orthosia cerasi)
  • 1x Light Brown Apple Moth (Epiphyas postvittana)
